Four Ways We Raise Local Dollars for Local Scholarships

 

Sponsored Scholarships 

Scholarships are set up by individuals, businesses, corporations, or other consortiums of people who want to contribute scholarship money under a specific named scholarship. The Belle Plaine chapter of Dollars for Scholars uses money raised in its fundraising efforts to match sponsor scholarship monies. 716 Club

716 is the Belle Plaine, MN school district number.  The Belle Plaine 716 Club is a scholarship endowment set up to provide an ongoing source of funds for scholarships to be awarded for our school district's graduating students who continue their post secondary education at college or vocational school.  These scholarships will use only the interest from the fund. Its purpose is to supply ongoing funding for scholarships.

Scholarships are given from the interest earned starting at the Scholar Level.


BP 716 Club level: Suggested payments are $116.00 for the 1st year and $120.00 each year for the next 5 years.This is a commitment to set aside $10.00 each month.

Fundraising Events 

Fundraising efforts provide the opportunity for donations throughout the year. Belle Plaine Dollars for Scholars sponsors two to three local fundraisers each year: Cash Calendar, Mail-a-Thon and the Car Raffle. Funds raised from these events supply the general fund which creates the matching monies to scholarships created through the local community and memorials. 

General Fund Donations 

Anyone is able to make a donation to our general fund which is used to match scholarship donations and covers our annual operating costs. Donations can be made by cash, check or through our online donation portal by credit card. Click HERE to access the online donation portal.
